MERIDEN, Conn. — A large section of Cook Avenue was closed to traffic Monday afternoon following a shooting, the Meriden Police Department confirmed.

The incident occurred around 12 p.m., according to authorities. Police were dispatched to the scene and established a significant perimeter, shutting down the roadway for investigation.
