COVINGTON, Ky. — A 22-year-old Covington man reported missing over the weekend was found deceased Sunday morning, according to local authorities.

The Covington Police Department confirmed that Joshua McDowell was located near the Monte Casino neighborhood, where he was last seen. McDowell was reported missing by family members on Saturday after he failed to return home or make contact.

Covington Police Captain Justin Bradbury stated McDowell was last seen around 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the 700 block of Monte Lane. Upon receiving the missing person report, officers from the Covington Police Department and deputies from the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office began search efforts that continued into Sunday morning, when McDowell was found.

“At this stage of the investigation, there is no indication of foul play,” Capt. Bradbury said. “Our investigators are continuing to review all available information to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.”

The official cause and manner of McDowell’s death will be determined by the Kenton County Coroner’s Office. Police have stated no further details will be released pending that investigation.
