
STOCKTON, Calif. — A Sunday afternoon shooting near a busy Stockton flea market left two men dead and a woman injured, according to the Stockton Police Department.
Officers responded to the 2500 block of South El Dorado Street around noon following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two adult men deceased at the scene. A woman was also found with injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.
The area, which includes a popular weekend flea market, was immediately cordoned off with crime scene tape as detectives began their investigation. Police have not yet identified the victims or disclosed a potential motive for the violence.
“Police are investigating what led up to the shooting and if the two men were armed,” a department spokesperson stated. The spokesperson declined to comment on whether the shooting was connected to the flea market operations or if any suspects are in custody.
The incident has rattled the neighborhood, which is typically bustling with weekend shoppers and vendors. The investigation remains active and ongoing. The Stockton Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact their non-emergency line or the homicide unit directly.
